One of the biggest American casino gaming and hotel corporations Caesars Entertainment Limited has announced that its Indiana-based Horseshoe Southern Indiana riverboat gaming venue will be finally moving onto dry land from the 12th of December. Moreover, this very popular riverboat casino facility will also be rebranded to Caesars Southern Indiana.

According to one Associated Press news outlet’s report from Sunday, this Harrison County-based facility has been active around since 1998. The locals usually call the venue simply The Boat. The facility is owned by the Vici Properties company while it is managed by Caesars Entertainment Limited. It is located just outside of the Elizabeth community in Indiana on the banks of the Ohio River.

New $90 Million-Worth Land-Based Facility

Horseshoe Southern Indiana is the closest fully legal gaming destination for many Louisville and Southern Indiana-based cities because such activities are not allowed in Floyd County which neighbors with Harrison County. The massive complex includes The Glory of Rome which is the name of its four-deck riverboat area that serves all sorts of casino games.

Other Horseshoe Southern Indiana facility’s amenities include seven restaurants, a hotel area with five hundred rooms, a showroom, two parking areas, and a massive golf course. As reported several days ago, this Harrison County-based facility will be shifting several yards onto dry land into a new land-based gaming venue which costs around $90 million. The new venue will feature a bigger casino offering with more poker attractions, gaming tables and slots alongside a sportsbook.

Caesars Entertainment Limited Selling the Glory of Rome

The same news outlet which shared the new about Caesars Southern Indiana opening its doors in December also revealed that the opening of the new 110,00 square feet land-based casino involves several more steps. As reported, Caesars Entertainment Limited will be shutting down its floating operations before the company proceeds to sell off the world’s biggest riverboat gambling venue, the Glory of Rome.

The venue located across the Ohio River banks fourteen miles from Louisville, Kentucky will move onto dry land thanks to one legislation in particular which was passed 2015. According to this legislation, Indiana-based riverboat casinos are allowed to relocate onto land for as long as they do not stray from their original footprints. When it comes to the newly renovated Caesars Southern Indiana venue, it will feature a great collection of additional amenities.

These include a massive VIP lounge in addition to five restaurants and several private, high-limit and non-smoking gaming lounges. Commenting on the news, the Horseshoe Southern Indiana venue’s General Manager and Vice-President Brad Seigel told to WAVE-TV which is a local broadcaster that the largest world’s riverboat casino the Glory of Rome has been an amazing servant to the facility for years, but it is the right time to replace it with a Las Vegas-style, one-story facility.

As shared by Brad Seigel, the new facility will feature a better ventilation system, several exterior balconies and large windows which will bring natural light. Brad Seigel also told the local broadcaster that after twenty-one years of working on the Glory of Rome, he as well as all employees have so many great memories related to the Glory of Rome, but it is time to move on. He finished his official report by saying that the Glory of Rome is currently up for sale and that the company’s management hopes to see many interested buyers.
