West Virginia lottery has stated that it will pass several more weeks before the Hollywood Casino located at Charles Town Races start offering its mobile sportsbetting platform. The Hollywood Casino gambling facility at Charles Town Race is not only a casino but also a race track located just outside the eastern ate of Charles Town. The gambling facility is owned and operated by Gaming and Leisure Properties with its partner Penn National Gaming.

The facility features a massive horse racing facility which serves as home to the West Virginia Breeders’ Classis. With more than two hundred and forty racing dates regularly scheduled, the Charles Town Races are among the busiest facilities of this kind in the state. It usually runs five days per week schedule. When it comes to the Hollywood Casino facility, it is also a busy place with crowds from all over the state. The casino includes more than three thousand slot machines, a sportsbetting service as well as loads of classic table games.

Going Strong Since 1933

The Charles Town Race Track opened its doors to the public on the 2^nd of December, 1933 by its owner Shenandoah Valley Jockey Club. Later on, the facility has changed its owners over the years. Alliance with DraftKings

According to the most recent reports on the subject, the disclosure came after the casino’s board announced that they had finished testing their mobile sportsbetting platform which will be running alongside the company’s partner, DraftKings Incorporated. The casino’s board also announced that once their mobile sportsbetting platform is launched, it will allow punters from all areas in West Virginia to place real money wagers on a massive range of sporting activities.

However, the launch of the platform has to be delayed after the company’s online trials have uncovered that one of their major servers is actually located in New Jersey. This issue could potentially leave West Virginia fully exposed to the latest Interstate Wire Act as established by the United States Department of Justice. Following this issue, the boss of the state’s lottery, Myers stated that all servers have to be located within the state’s borders in order to make sure that there is no violation of the Interstate Wire Act.

He also added that the latest Interstate Wire Act states that all sportsbetting-related functions must be done without crossing state lines. Therefore, the West Virginia casino has to split functions on its already exciting server located within the state’s borders. Since this will take some time, the launch of the casino’s mobile sportsbetting platform is delayed.

West Virginia has been a part of the regulated sports betting industry since May 2018. One year later, DraftKings, one of the leading betting sites, is about to enter the market by launching its sports betting app. They’ve partnered up with Hollywood Casino in order to make this happen, and they are hoping to bring back mobile wagering to this US state. It is set to become the third state where DraftKings has gone live with their app.

Since DraftKings entered a licensing deal with Hollywood Casino last year, they are now able to release the mobile betting app in West Virginia. The purpose of those tests was to make sure that all the players are verified and that’s they’re playing inside the state. Since the tests were passed, the soft-launch with Hollywood Casino at Charles Town will happen very soon.

Thanks to this app, bettors will be able to use their mobile phone to check the betting odds prior to placing their bet online. It spares a lot of time in comparison to in-person sports betting.

The Shut Down of BetLucky.com

Delaware North launched the BetLucky.com website and the app last year, and it was the first time West Virginia entered the world of online sports betting. The owner of Mardi Gras Casino & Resort and Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack had formed a partnership with Miomni Gaming and they offered sports betting services to users in West Virginia.

Unfortunately, BetLucky.com got shut down on March 6, and no one saw it coming. Delaware North immediately terminated the partnership with Miomni Gaming from Britain. They announced that they need to find a new betting platform provider. The details about this sudden event were shocking. According to Delaware North, they are preparing a lawsuit against Miomni Gaming, due to fraud and intentional contract breach. Miomni Gaming also had an argument with another platform provider which Delaware North knew nothing about. It caused a lot of problems for this sports betting site and it had to be shut down.

While BetLucky app was running, it experiences a huge success and that’s also expected form DraftKings app. According to Mr. Myers, those applications have some distinctions but, in general, they are quite similar and have the same purpose.
