One of the most prominent online gaming regulators, the Malta Gaming Authority has announced exciting news which regards the establishment of a brand-new sports gaming entity that will be tasked with collecting intelligence and information on any kind of suspicious wagering patterns. Hence, the main task of the entity will be to help in the fight manipulation in real-money sports betting.
This was released in the regulator’s official press release in which the regulator’s officials released some more detail on its new Sports Integrity entity. What we know so far is that this entity will also pass on any collected data which may include any kind of irregular, suspicious sports betting patterns and activities related to both local and foreign iGaming operators, law enforcement agencies, sporting organizations, regulatory bodies and monitoring systems for sports betting.
Providing Safe and Secure Gaming Environments to All Players
The Malta Gaming Authority known as MGA for short is one of the most prominent gaming control boards located in Malta. The regulator is responsible for many different gambling forms in its territory including land-based and online casinos, slot machines, fantasy sports, lotteries and betting offices. It was established back in 2001 with the main responsibility of regulating different gaming industry sectors that fall under its authority.
Moreover, it is also responsible for ensuring fairness and security to players while focusing on preventing any kind of criminal activities such as money laundering and corruption. The MGA is also responsible for protecting vulnerable, minor players as well as other customers. It is worth mentioning that the Malta Gaming Authority was one of the few regulators of this kind to offer legislation that regulates activities and services offered by iGaming operators and companies.
