Last week, the WPT or World Poker Tour has announced that Australia’s The Star Gold Coast facility will be the host of not one, not two, but three World Poker Tour festivals. As previously revealed, one of the biggest poker tournaments of all times, the World Poker Tour is returning to this area for the second time for its XVIII season. The very first event of the season kicks off in April. As revealed by the World Poker Tour officials, the following season, the biggest poker festival is back in September 2020 and then in April of 2021.
The Star Gold Coast facility which will host those three new festivals is a hotel and casino located on the Gold Coast of Queensland, Australia. The facility officially opened in November of 1986. The casino facility within The Star Gold Coast venue was actually the very first facility of this kind to open in Queensland. It is located close to the Nerang River. Today, it is managed by the Star Entertainment Group company.
At the time of its beginnings, The Star Gold Coast venue was named Conrad Jupiters before being rebranded to its today’s name. The hotel area features five hundred and ninety-two rooms while the total gaming space occupies over 65,000 square feet. Besides its main attractions, The Star Gold Coast venue is also home to the iconic Jupiters Theatre. As mentioned on the official website of the venue, one percent of The Star Gold Coast casino’s gaming revenues go to the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.
WPT DeepStacks Gold Coast Kicking Off on the 30th of April
The World Poker Tour is an international entertainment and gaming brand. Since its inception back in 2002, the World Poker Tour has operated a great series of television-broadcasted poker series and international poker tournaments. The World Poker Tour Season XIX 2021 Returning to The Star Gold Coast
In 2021, the World Poker Tour Season XIX will be back in Australia with the WPT DeepStacks once again taking place at The Star Gold Coast venue. This event will kick off on the 23rd of April and it will last until the 3rd of May. The Main Event of this World Poker Tour stop will feature a buy-in of AUD $1,500. The very first time that the World Poker Tour headed to Australia was in Season XVIII and the event seen six hundred and fifty-eight entries that created a massive prize pool of around AUD $1.48 million. The event crowned Hari Varma as the ultimate winner.
